Government Launches Secure Communication Platform for Federal Employees

Pakistan has taken a major step in digital security. The federal government has launched the pilot phase of Beep, a secure communication app built for official use only.

Beep is developed by the National Information Technology Board. It is designed exclusively for government employees. The goal is simple. Protect official communication and keep sensitive data inside a controlled digital system.



Why Beep Was Needed


Government departments have relied on third party apps like WhatsApp and Zoom for communication. These platforms are widely used but are not built specifically for state level security requirements.


Sensitive discussions, official documents, and policy meetings require stronger protection. Data leaks and cyber threats are increasing globally. A local, controlled platform reduces external risks and strengthens national cybersecurity.


What Beep Offers


Beep is built with security as its foundation. It includes:


• Secure audio calling

• Encrypted video calling

• Video conferencing for official meetings

• Safe transfer of official documents

• Controlled access for verified government employees only


The app has passed required security audits before entering the pilot phase. This ensures compliance with national cybersecurity standards.
